River View

Our city now has a walk/bike path over the river.  We took a late evening walk and took a few pictures of the beautiful Mighty 'Mo.  We almost waited too long and I was afraid I wouldn't get good pictures, but I really like they way they turned out.  The blue colors are great.

I also got a picture of a train coming into the Capitol City.  We only walked halfway over the bridge to the viewing spot.  Next time I'll put on my tennis shoes and walk all the way over the bridge and back.  Having a great view on a walk helps encourage exercise!

I'm not sure I needed the sunglasses this time of evening.

It was a wonderful evening, great breeze and beautiful view.

One Thing After Another

Within difficult situations look for the positive.
  • My job being taken to less hours and less pay - good time to revisit house budget and spend money intentionally.  Remind yourself how blessed you are and what really is important.
  • Uncle passed away - remind yourself how precious life is and make sure you cherish every moment.
  • Father having heart cath along with four stents - be thankful for God's timing and care.  Last Monday was stress test, Tuesday test results, Wednesday meet with cardiologist, Thursday cath and consultation, and Friday stents.  Medical procedures don't always happen that quickly.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:6-7

The Kennedys

I watched the first episode of "The Kennedys" on Netflix.  I really enjoyed it.  Looking forward to sitting down and watching the full series.

This is why I love Netflix.  You can pick out random TV series or movies and make an evening of it.  Maybe even learn a little history as well!

Farmer's Market

Farmer's Market time.  Ours is open Tuesday and Thursday evenings.  When we showed up last Thursday the lines were crazy...especially for the corn.  We bought corn, green beans, red potatoes and tomatoes.  The corn on the cob was really fantastic.  Can't wait to get more this week.

Peaches were the special at Aldi's last week.  They had them for a quarter a piece.  Great price.  So with great peaches ... you make great peach cobbler!

I served the cobbler to my husband's family when we got together.  It was well received.

Fireworks

I spent the Holidays with my daughter and family while my husband was away on a mission trip to Kenya.  We rode the metro to downtown St. Louis to watch the fireworks.  They were really great.  It was very crowded, both at the Arch and on the metro.

Pour little Olive didn't care for the fireworks.  You never know how they will react.  This picture would have been a great family picture if we could get Olive to turn around!

Hope you had a great 4th of July.
